Some parties are fun. Some are beautiful. And then there are the rare ones people are still talking about long after the last glass is cleared. This circus-themed 60th birthday celebration in Ridgway, PA was absolutely the latter.
In 2024, Penn Mountain Event Co.’s Event Manager Jacquie Dusenberry had the honor of planning a truly unforgettable milestone birthday for a private client at their home in Ridgway. With a guest list of more than 200 friends and family, the goal was simple but ambitious: create a high-energy, immersive experience that felt personal, joyful, and completely stress-free for the hosts. Mission accomplished.
The Vision Brought to Life
From the moment guests arrived at the valet parking station, it was clear this was no ordinary backyard party. A stunning tent from Venture Tent Rentals transformed the private residence into a full-scale event space, setting the stage for a night filled with color, music, movement, and magic. The circus theme wasn’t just hinted at—it came alive.
High-energy performances by CIRQUE-TACULAR PRODUCTIONS, INC. based in New York City, wowed the crowd throughout the evening, bringing that classic big-top excitement with acrobatics and circus flair woven seamlessly into the flow of the event. Adding to the wow factor, Jes Blauser, aerialist, delivered breathtaking performances overhead, while Michelle Danielle, hoop artist, wowed the crowd. Add in live music by Velveeta, and the atmosphere stayed electric from start to finish.
Of course, no great party survives without great food and drink—and this one delivered. Anytime Lunchtime kept guests happily fed with food stations and food truck on site, while The Brew Bank kept glasses full. Every detail, from timing to presentation, was carefully coordinated so guests could focus on celebrating (and maybe grabbing one more drink).
The visual details truly tied everything together. Glitter T brought the circus theme to life through flowers and décor that were playful, bold, and polished. And every moment, from the big performances to the small in-between interactions, was beautifully captured by Penn Mountain Event Co’s own Rachel Shaffer, on behalf of Rachel Shaffer Photography, ensuring the memories will last far longer than one incredible night.
Timing Is Everything
And just when guests thought the evening couldn’t get any better, the sky lit up. The night ended with a fireworks display from the Ridgway Carnival, presented by the Ridgway Volunteer Firemen—a perfect finale that had everyone stopping mid-conversation to take it all in. Sometimes timing is everything, and this moment felt like pure magic.
Behind the scenes, Jacquie was doing what she does best: managing vendors, solving problems before anyone noticed them, keeping the timeline on track, and making sure the hosts didn’t have to lift a finger. From rentals and staffing to last-minute changes and cleanup logistics, everything was handled with calm confidence and care.
The Birthday Girl summed it up best:
“Everyone wants a memorable party but not everyone has the time, energy or creativity to pull it off. That was the case for my latest BIG birthday party. I established a budget and set expectations. Jacquie had great ideas to make a never-to-be-forgotten event for my family and friends. Jacquie presented options and gave me professional suggestions. She handled the caterers, entertainment, rentals, scheduling, extra staff – truly everything but the weather. I didn’t pick up trash or worry about ice, she handled it all! Changes at the last minute? Jacque was on it. That left my husband and I to casually enjoy the event! I give Jacquie a 10 out of 10!”
Looking back, this event was a perfect example of what happens when thoughtful planning meets creative vision and strong vendor partnerships-both near and far. It wasn’t just a birthday party—it was an experience filled with laughter, surprise, and moments that guests will be talking about for years.
